Good Morning Girls,
Medusa - I hope it was a lovely service yesterday. Maybe for your birthday keep it to something low-key if you don't feel up to a party. Buy yourself something special instead.
DrSarah - WTG with the kids' first day back at school, you're doing a great job
I've tossed & turned all night with an arthritis flare in my wrist. Extremely painful & limited movement atm. I've had a hot pack on it & some panandol but no relief yet. I'm off to have a super hot shower where I'll work it (that usually helps a bit) & I'll try to do my usual morning routine to keep it moving so hopefully it'll settle down before school time. Not much fun when DS weighs over 16 kgs & his wheelchair is pretty heavy too. Luckily I can still type somewhat
Anyway, I'll see how that goes before anything else today.
Wishing you all a great day

Good Morning Elasti and all the Lovely Ladies to come
Medusa, I agree with Elasti, perhaps just a small celebration this year with all that's going on and then make it extra big next year. I hope your DMum recovers quickly, I know how it feels having Mum unwell. How is M-I-L holding up? I am sure you have been a great comfort to her.
Sarah, great job yesterday, may the rest of the school term go the same way for you. What book are your reading for Book Club? There are some avid readers here (when we find the time)
Elasti, sorry to hear about the flare up. Does it improve in the warmer months? Roll on Spring. I hope the hot shower gives your relief.
Well I am feeling like I have a few 'ducks in a row' here, I have the shower lady coming here this morning. (And I'm NOT embarrassed to have her in my ensuite). They were so great about swapping locations. PLUS DMums GP was happy to chat and happy to write scripts without seeing DMum again, so no need to 'shake her up' in the car. AND we got a call yesterday saying DMum has a place to get a long term care package (next level of care). She will have to pay a percentage of her pension but will receive 5 or 6 hours of in home care. They can continue to do showers, cleaning, grocery shopping, Dr visit transports, meal prep, dishes and probably a whole range of things we don't know about yet. Which will be such a great help to DMum and leave me free to be able to actually just visit with her sometimes rather that ALWAYS going to do chores/errands/housework etc. I am sooooo happy about this.
Either today or tomorrow I need to pop over to DMum's to gather a few more supplies now she's decided to stay here more permanently. Also want to finish off my WHB. Came to an abrupt halt yesterday when I got to DD16's room and it was a nightmare. She got 'bounced' last night, so hopefully when she comes out this morning it will be ship-shape, or I'll be 'bent out of shape' again this morning.
Oh, and for any of us slow cooker fans. I did something different last night. Cooked 2 different meals at the one time in the slow cooker. I used oven bags. Pork Chops with BBQ sauce in one and Portuguese Chicken with Chick Peas in the other. (Both jars I needed to use up, so no recipe to share). Anyway they turned out great. AND the slow cooker didn't even get dirty, just a damp. I put about a cup of water in the bottom of SC then popped the bags in next to each other and shut the lid. I was AMAZED and the Pork Chops were lovely and tender. BBQ was a little runny so I poured it into a pan to reduce for awhile which worked.
Ok, time to get DMum moving now I have the house warmed up, 40mins to shower lady will be here.
Wishing you all a Wonderful Wednesday.

Good Morning Thank you for the encouragement Elasti and Shellie
DH and DD will give me a present, but other than that there is nothing planned for my birthday, I wont have the usual extended family gathering, too much effort. DMum is getting me a massage voucher so I will book that when I can.
MIL is coping, but now there is less to do, I don't know how she will go.
Today DD and DH are resting at home. I have errands & visiting Mum in hospital to do today.

Hi Shellie - no it doesn't seem to matter what season it is, it's 'severe & aggressive' all the time. Unfortunately. I like your thinking! I'm going to have to try that Medusa I hope your DMum gets better soon (hugs) I'm back from the school drop offs - went ok with my wrist - I just have to think about everything before I do it - DH has an early day today so he'll be picking DS up, I'm picking up DD. I might hang out in the 3's & go slow.
