Good Morning Girls, Welcome back Elizabeth! Lovely to hear you had a great holiday - I hope you had plenty of time to relax Yesterday I helped DH put the new clothesline up in a bigger space & he decided to put the old one up next to it so now I've got lots of line space. Today I'm washing all of the sheets & a load of clothes. Also I want to do a bit more in the zone, some more paper shredding/reconciling, bake something, write a grocery list, clear out the fridge, put the bins out to the kerb & get lunches organised for the week. Hope to BBL Have a great day everyone!

Good Morning Elasti and all the Lovely Ladies to come
I hope you have a productive day Elasti, and you also take some time to rest and renew for the week ahead.
Welcome Home Elizabeth. You have been missed. Sounds like you had a great time. It also sounds like you have taken off FLYing as soon as you touched down. Don't forget to rest too.
Well I have been fairly (lets say) relaxed in the house this last week. I took a 'Mental Health Day' that has lasted quite a few days. Just doing the bare basics is keeping the house under control. I would like to do a little extra this morning, but will have to see how I actually go.
Yesterday DD16 and I went and bought a car battery charger from ALDI (DMums car has gone flat with no use) and then went to DMum's for a visit. Then took DD16 to the big shopping center to watch her school friend perform. After that she went to the beach with a GF, had a big adventure on the bus and then the train home. While she did that I came home, made DH and I a nice lunch and then we went to watch 'Gone Girl' at the movies. I read the book last week and thoroughly enjoyed it. The movie was also good. I don't normally 'take' to a movie after I read the book, but they got this one pretty right. DH enjoyed it too. So I would recommend both. DS21 came over for dinner last night, so we had all our kids here for dinner which was lovely.
I was awake before DH went to work, and didn't sleep much during the night, I am guessing it will all catch up with me soon. Today there are plans to visit DBinlaw for his birthday, so I need to get some things done either side of that.
Ok, time to do a few quiet things while I wait for the girls to wake up. Might start with coffee number 2 and then the ensuite and then the ironing and folding.
Wishing you a Super Sunday and I hope your having a Wonderful Weekend.

Hi Everyone Elizabeth- you must have had a wonderful holiday. Hope you have time to share some more details with us. Elasti- you have a big list today. No excuses now for Mt Washmore lol Have fun at DBiLs Shellie and hope you get a bit done at home. I babysat last night at DGDs house and didn’t get home until nearly 1am, so Ill be needing an early night tonight-early start Monday again. Dh will come home this afternoon with some filthy motorbike gear and then he’s on night Shift tonight. I hope he was a bit sensible over the weekend and didn’t stay up til the wee hours chatting with the guys….yeah he probably did. Today I’m going to church and then to lunch with at least 2 of the wives and maybe a third. We are going to a new cafe in the Dandenogs called The Piggery-hope its nicer than i sounds lol. Actually I did google it and it looks quite trendy. After that Ill prepare a healthy dinner and help DH unpack. He also took kitchen utensils and stuff so a bit of washing up as well
Hope you All have a Great Day!! x x

Hi everyone,
Thanks for the lovely welcomes. It was a varied holiday with so much to do, but I didn't get a lot of down time. DH eventually realised that the children needed regular feeding and sleeping. The kids, particular DS4 struggled a little with the food options - just not what we're used to eating. One day, DS4 had craisins for breakfast, popcorn for lunch and fries for dinner. Now I'm right back to healthy food.
With post-holiday perspectives, I'm really trying to FLY. We have been doing washing just about non-stop since we returned and it's getting there. DD12 just left with DH for the airport for her school trip. She slept most of the flight back from the US and had 11 1/2 hours sleep last night, so she's really doing very, very well for just over 24 hours at home before camp. She's off to Canberra for the school trip and will be back late Friday night. In a way, it helps not having her activities this week, but I'm missing her already.
Today's main goals are to keep getting the house closer to neat (i.e. making beds, washing, folding, decluttering as I go) and getting ready for tomorrow (boys' lunches, my lunch, DS4's preprep bag, grocery shop, my clothes laid out and work bag packed, handbag switched over and cleaned out from travelling).
Things aren't too bad, but I realise going from a suitcases to the house that I can really declutter quite a bit. I have just about pulled out all of DS4's too small clothes and bagged them, did half of DS8's drawers. DS8 gets a bit random at times, so I'm finding odd socks amongst toys, books and sports gear. Can't say I quite understand it when he's closest to the both the laundry and the bathroom hamper.
Tomorrow is a work day for me after dropping DS8 at tennis before school and DS4 at preprep. I'll work a short day unless DH can collect the boys. DS8 has cricket training at 6.15pm so I think it's a big afternoon tea then a 7.30pm dinner rather than sending him to training on a full stomach. Keeping meals simple this week. Tomorrow night is steak and home made vegetable fried rice.
Wishing you all a wonderful day.
Another holiday moment: In Portland we saw Vaux's swifts at sunset on a Friday night with DH's cousin, husband and 3 girls. It was a picnic at the elementary school with Pizza and subtle imbibing of grape beverages (not meant to have alcohol on school grounds) watching for the swifts to roost for the night in the old chimney of the school. It was fascinating how they circled, really very fast before swarming down the chimney. The highlight was the hawk waiting to pick off dinner. There was the real drama of the ooohhhs and ahhhhs like a villain in an old fashioned puppet show. Felt a little sorry for the swifts who became a meal, but I suppose that's nature.
