Good Morning Lovely Ladies
I am feeling a little tired and emotional this weekend. I suppose being 'tired' is mostly causing the 'emotional'.
Today is the Annual Carols at our local park. This is not traditionally a happy night for me. I always really want it to be, but for some reason there is always a 'spanner' thrown in the works by one family member or another. Thinking about it over the year just now has not helped improve my mood any, I need to put those things out of my mind.
And of course there is, the more often than not, storms at this time of year that always threaten and sometimes do rain the event out.
To add to the excitement, this year the local council is also running 'The Childrens Games' and having the opening ceremony as well as the Carols on the same night. So what are everyones plans this year...DS21 is working (fair enough, he works most Sunday's), DD20 is volunteering at the Games (9am-9pm, good girl), DD16 has made arrangement to go down at some point with her Bestie and their 2 beau's and will meet up with a bunch of their school friends and DH who usually has Sunday Arvo off has to work all day (left at 5.30am and won't be home until at least 6pm, long day and will be very tired). So that leaves me very 'Nigel No Friends' to go down by myself, which doesn't sound very appealing to me right now. It just never seems to work out to be a happy night for me, usually someone, somehow manages to 'break my heart a little' every year. (Don't I sound like Debbie Downer)
So.....
Today I was up at 5am listening to DH get ready for work and listening to his 2nd alarm go off while he was in the shower, I couldn't get back to sleep. And after a restless night I really could have used another hour or 5. Anyway up and at 'em as they say. I have had my coffee and have been sitting around planning my day. I have 3 still asleep in the house so it will be quiet achievement for another couple of hours.
Need to go visit DMum and call at the grocery store on the way home and pick up a couple of small gifts that I just thought of this morning (DMum85 is getting really hard to buy for and I used all my good idea's up on her birthday last week).
Dinner is prepared and I think everyone can just serve themselves as the evening happens.
I have 1 light to hang in the window (the only one I am doing this year), with DH back and shoulders being such a problem he can't possibly hang lights up a ladder and I wouldn't even consider asking. (He did however manage to play golf yesterday, but came home absolutely ruined, in pain and a bit of a pain).
And there is 1 tub of Christmas shelf decorations to unpack.
I have a dress for DD16 to mend and then I can use the sewing cabinet for more decorating space (the sewing station will be shut down for a month).
I put Toilet Duck on the shower grout last night so I'll give that a scrub when I shower
Plus my Daily Routines, so that should keep me busy.
Time to go put 'Load a Day' on and start my Daily Routines.
I think I might at least go for a walk down with DD20 this morning when she goes to start volunteering and get the 'lay of the land down' at the park, and then might wander down again later this arvo. DD20 is overseeing the Water Polo at the Council Pool (also in the park area) during the day and then will be directing the children during the opening ceremony. So maybe I can go watch her do that for awhile.
Wishing you all a Super Sunday and hope your having a Wonderful Weekend xoxo
