Good Morning Medusa and all the Lovely Ladies to come
Yesterday we finished the gift shopping. DD20 still needs to go buy for DD16 but that's on her shoulders. Our ordered gifts have arrived so that's lucky (but we did have a back up plan - having 3 birthday's in January makes that easier, so Bday gifts were on standby to fill in for Christmas. Now I am just super organized for birthday's lol)
Most of the wrapping is done. Just need DD's to be out of the house so I can bring something in from the garage.
DD16 had to be up and moving at 6am to get into full hair and makeup for 2nd Dance Concert Dress Rehearsal starting at 8am. She is being picked up at 7.30am. They rehearse unitl 2pm, get picked up, fed and watered, then returned at 5pm for a 6pm show. Seems ridiculous to me, the teens will be ok, but I imagine the 5yr olds will be dead on their feet tonight. This is our 1st year with this studio, so things seem very different.
For me today, I have the arvo pick up of DD + Dance Friend. And return to the theater. Then the show tonight. In between I am putting a Spag Bol in the Slow Cooker and running the vac around. Plus the few wrapping items and some ironing if I can find the motivation. The weather is overcast so don't know if I'll get a load done.
Anyway, DD16's lift will be here any minute and I'm in my nightie, so best throw something else on. Wishing you all a Wonderful Wednesday xoxo

Good Morning Medusa, Shellie & this to come,I think I might have missed Judy before she left for holidays? - Judy if you see this - have fun & stay safe xoMedusa - enjoy your day with your mumShellie - that long rehearsal does seem a bit OTT. Enjoy the concert & good luck to DD16.The Sydney siege was really upsetting, I was glued to the news footage all day when it was happening. Those poor people. (I can’t think too much about it, it just makes me cry) And the flower memorial & the kid with the chalk, I just can’t. We Australians have such an amazing spirit of mateship & resilience.Things haven’t been going well here this week (or the last 2 weeks really). A few pain in the ar$e tension-causing problems - I won’t bore you with the details. No aircon still & yesterday was 36 here. Yikes. That does’t help the situation. So it's a new day. Today it’s supposed to be rainy/stormy so I’ve washed a small load & put it in the dryer, this morning DH wants to buy a portable? a/c unit to get us through summer & I need to order a flower delivery for my DMum’s birthday. After that, I’ll make a plan for the next couple of days. Wishing you a great day

Oh Elasti, I feel the same way. I ended up I had to walk away from the TV, I just couldn't keep sitting there. I wrapped presents watching it in absolute tears. I wanted to do something positive and prove to (well myself I guess) that life was normal and I wouldn't be intimidated. I did get really nervous when the evacuation happened in Canberra that afternoon, and the Opera House, I had visions of 9/11 and rolling events that unfolded that day. But thankfully he was just a one off whack job and he is gone.
The floral tributes have been inspiring, what an amazing outpouring of love and compassion. And the 'I'll ride with you' movement too. We will stand by good Australian Citizens, who just want to live a happy peaceful life.
It makes you want to hug those around you a little closer and maybe put aside petty niggles a little quicker.
This is a rough time of year for everyone, money is tight, time is tight, tensions are running high, we are all just too busy, too frantic and too stressed. It made me stop and think and 'chill' about the less important 'problems' I thought I had.
Put on some happy Christmas Music hun and hopefully that will get you in the mood a bit more. And I hope you can get that A/C unit, it will help 'cool' things off a little.
Hugs and more Hugs xoxo
