Good Morning Lovely Ladies
1st of Feb, WOW, time to get back to working on my goals.
Sorry to hear about your friend hubby Elasti, you are a wonderful friend helping out where you can, they will really appreciate that. Having someone in hospital really does take it's toll on family life.
IRONING!!!! Me too Medusa, YUCK. As much as I hate it, I just can't bring myself to put it away and ironing as I need it (I have friends who do that), I'd never get out the door that way.
Not much happening today, but then we have had an unusually busy weekend so far. Visited my GF yesterday and her new house. I had seen it on the Real Estate page and I must admit, the photo's were very well staged. It's not a new home and is showing signs of not being maintained so well by the elderly couple who owned it. They had once been keen gardeners, but really haven't done much for many years by the look of it. So much gardening and landscaping to be done. And their pool is not up to code. Trees and things growing too close to the fence and a side that isn't even tall enough. So they need to get moving on that one quickly. And during the big rain last week their outdoor area started to leak into a light fitting so there is a whole area they can't even use straight away. Poor things. They will get there and eventually paint and redo the flooring. The bones of the house are great, and they yard could be amazing, but I think they'll need a ride on mower eventually as it's huge. It was great to catch up with her, we don't see nearly enough of them.
DS21 and GF came for dinner last night, and honestly I almost cried when he came around the corner. He has gained so much weight since moving out. I just can't believe he has let himself go like that, and in such a short period of time. I would have imagined my kids would have learned by DH and my life long battle with weight. I have for years told them to deal with 5kgs over weight is easier/quicker than dealing with 25kgs, and seriously I wouldn't be surprised if he's put on almost 25kgs. When I compare him now and DH 24kgs ago, I think DS looks bigger, his arms and legs are just so blotted looking and of course his stomach as well which is the dangerous fat. I offered to help him at the beginning of December, told him I'd buy his food, prepare it into meals and bring it over, and that he could have potentially have lost 10kgs by NYE and he just fobbed me off. Now I feel he's gained 10 since then. I am so sad for him, I know how it feels and how hard it is, and he's only 22. He should be enjoying is body and looks at that age, and not feeling like a fat middle aged man. I'm so sad.
Anyway time to get to my 'Daily's', wishing you a Super Sunday and hope your having a Wonderful Weekend

Hi Everyone Elasti- what a wonderful girl you are helping your DF even when you yourself are busy and not coping the best. And why are you getting up so early? How can you possibly function??- hugs to you!! Yes Medusa the first day of school for a first or only child is a huge event. Make if fun, have everything ready so she’s not anxious about being late or rushed and take photos!! Next week maybe start the 'things to do before school’ chart. Have her get as much of herself ready and making her own bed -with practice it will get neater! Shellie- lovely you could visit your DFs yesterday. My DS21 was telling me how much weight he had put on since moving out a year ago. I too have made him meals in takeaway containers (although I did stop when we had a back pile in our freezer that he wasn’t taking) He drops in here often after work and I offer him food but he’s always needing to rush off somewhere. Last week I invited him to family dinner. He didn’t respond but apparently he was planning to come but he fell asleep on his couch and rolled up at 9.30pm??!! Too many pizzas and I think, beers with his mates-especially the last month not having a DGF. He used to go to her house for meals too and sometimes he’d cook a meal for the 2 of them at his house. He’s onto it now and even came here, borrowed a leash and took his DDog for a walk. He works such long hours and manual work so I get that he’s too tired to cook dinner and then having to clean up afterwards. I talked to him yesterday about if he moved back home his DDog would have to sleep in a kennel in a dog run at night and he wants the DDog to sleep inside so its his choice (again) not to live at home Had a fun night last night at DNiece’s ‘Gatsby’ themed 21st. Didn’t take photos of ourselves but some were taken at party. The food was fantastic , the alcohol plentiful. DH had to leave and show up at work and then came back with his partner and I got dropped off at home in the back of a police car at 1.30am lol (wasn’t a divvy van but a 4WD ) I slept in til 10 and Im having a lazy, quiet day at home I have to be quiet as DH needs to sleep after night shift. No plans except to shower, wash, dry & straighten my hair, file that paperwork thats been on my list all week, mop laundry floor after DDogs ‘accident’ and potter, maybe in the garden too (well hot house as its looking like rain- we’ve had the coldest January!! ) I might buy some more takeaway containers and make DS21 a chicken and VEGETABLE (!) casserole with rice
Have a Great Day!! x x
