Good Morning to the Lovely Ladies
Today is DH day off. We have a few chores to do around the house and a few to do out and about. I think I will go to the baking supplies shop today too.
The weekend was lovely and relaxing. It ended last night with a nice dinner out DH & I and DD20 and TNB (while DD17 had dinner at the restaurant next door for her GF's BDay). Food was great. We were on Newcastle Harbour overlooking the water and it was a beautiful night. Really enjoyed it.
Medusa, sorry to hear DH is unwell. You must be really 'sick' of the illness through your household lately, it's been a rough few weeks. It must be nearly over. Get the Glen20 out and give a good spray and that might help bring an end quicker. When we were ill at Christmas (gastro bug chrissy present) I got up in 5min spurts and disinfected room by room, all the flat surfaces, door handles and light switches, sinks, toilets, etc. Changed all the sheets as soon as I was able. Managed to prevent DD20 and TNB getting sick too. This too shall pass xoxo (although I bet you can't see the light in the tunnel).
Elasti, how you going? I know you were having a busy time this last week. I hope you managed to squeeze in some fun too xoxo
Judy, it was lovely chatting with you on the weekend. I know you will get back on the Dukan train and do amazing, after all, you were my inspriation xoxo
I can't remember if I mentioned, I had a phone call from SYS a week or two ago, they survived the cyclone fine, excepting DS's car got flooded inside. They were trying to dry it out while we were on the phone. Poor things had to bucket it out 1st. She is very busy with work and finds in very rewarding and is a part time 'empty nester' now. I am hoping they start to enjoy their new found freedom now. She is well and happy.
Ok ladies, time to actually get onto my Daily's and the other events today will bring. Wishing you all a Marvelous Monday and a Wonderful Week ahead xoxo

Hi All Its Public Holiday here -Labour Day -YAY!! Good on you Jilly for painting your doors. Oh Medusa- sorry to hear you have another sickie-hope you dont get it! Shellie, sounds like you had a lovely night out. Thanks for sharing about Sys. Hopefully she’ll have some time to post back in here again! Well its a public holiday here today, in case I hadn’t told you . So nice to be at home and get paid for it!! I decided we would have a day at home mowing, weeding and improving our front and back yard- not the veggie garden or do the fencing or the orchard or even do any preserving. I had DH on board for a while and then he had the MaleDBP help him with a fence/gate Oh well, the yards and garden beds do look a lot better and the orchard has been mostly mowed (there is netting over the fruit trees so can’t mow too close to that) I am yet to give the back a quick mow (I did it the other week so its not too bad)
Warning-Vent Im a bit annoyed at DBPs who bought a car from Gumtree. They were picking it up and paying cash for it while we were away and DH told (and wrote it out for them) that they needed 3 things A Road Worthy Certificate, A signed transfer document and a receipt. They got the transfer document and then 2 other useless documents - a photocopy of the guys license - expired by 2 years (?) and an Application for renewal of registration with a paid stamp on it. It doesn’t look like its registered, it doesn’t have a RWC and the previous owner (who they met in the street so dont know where he lives) isn’t answering his mobile. So it looks like DH will have to help them get RWC (if they can afford any fixing up it may need) and registered in the 3 days he has home this week before he goes to NZ on friday morning At least they bought it off a French guy and weren’t ripped off by an Aussie! I was so hoping they'd be on the way early this week. They are a lovely young couple but I just need some personal space. (it will be 4 weeks on Wednesday) I really dont want them here on my own while DH is away. I know I sound awful but I’m not a real outgoing person and need some days on my own.
Ok Im off to give the back lawn a quick mow before we start getting dinner ready. Im making moussaka with eggplants (and tomatoes) from our garden for dinner. I will also have do do something (either tomato paste or bottled tomatoes) with a couple more batches of tomatoes…will it ever end? I haven’t started with all the apples we have that are starting to ripen ~sigh
Have a Good EveningNight Everyone!! x x
