#13a - cupboard under bathroom sink #13b - desk
OMG, do I need the desk declutter. In fact, what I actually need is to spend the entire month worth of decluttering on my desk and then maybe I'd get somewhere. 15 minutes barely scratched the surface, but at least it scratched it. I really, really, really need to spend some time regularly on a daily basis dealing with my admin stuff.
Cupboard under the bathroom sink, on the other hand, was still fine following the declutter I did in April. I glanced in there in case the stuff had been quietly breeding, or anything, but everything in there is legit. I think I'm OK just leaving the bathroom missions this time around, since I did it so recently.

doing well drsarah I have done the missions up to 18. Not much to declutter because I declutter all the time. But it is good to go through everything to declutter just a bit more

Dear Friends,
Happy Father's Day! And welcome to Zone 4 of our Super Fling Boogie. Zone 4 is our Master Bedroom, Bathroom, and Closet. Our Missions for today:
Master Bedroom- Declutter the top of the nightstand. If you still have a few minutes left on your timer, get a drawer done too! Bathroom- Toss the clutter that's in your shower/tub. Closet- Declutter old, broken, and missing shoes.
Don't forget to tally up your pounds and then post them in the pound meter.
There are three rules to play our little game.
1. You have to be dressed to shoes. 2. Your Sink has to be shining and morning routine done. 3. Set a timer for 15 minutes so you won't spend all day decluttering. 4. Take the bag or box of clutter to your car. 5. Post your pounds on the Super Fling Boogie Pound Meter.

Dear Friends
This week, we are in Zone 4- The Master Bedroom, Bathroom, and Closet. Master Bedroom: Time to go through our bras, panties, and socks. Set your timer for 15 minutes and get rid of anything with holes, rips, and tears.
Bathroom: Declutter your makeup. Makeup does actually have a shelf life! Mascara should only be kept around 3 months. If you aren't sure if it's time to toss, a quick google search will give you some guidelines.
Closet: Let's go through old belts and scarves. If you were out shopping right now, would you buy that belt? If the answer is no, it's time to let it bless someone else!

Bathroom: It's time to clear off those countertops. If you haven't used it in weeks, put it away or throw it away.
Closet: Let's go through our shorts. If they are too short, missing buttons, holes ripped in the rear, it's time to let them go. Remember to donate what is usable!

Good for you, Medusahair - and good for you for getting to the point where you're finding that a super-declutter like this leaves you with hardly anything else to throw out because you've got rid of it all already! ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Busy week, but coming back to it: #14 - Extra bedroom
The extra bedroom is actually my bedroom - I moved out of the master bedroom a couple of years ago. Before that, we used it as the dumping ground for a load of stuff we hadn't got a place for or hadn't got round to throwing out, so there is a lot of decluttering still to be done in there (even though I've got rid of quite a bit of it over time). I did 15 minutes by timer - not really showing up much as yet, but every bit helps and one day it'll add up to a clear floor. #15 - Kids' room
I did a lot of clearing up in here over half term, and most of the stuff that's in there is stuff the kids just don't want to get rid of, so I spent this time working on the wall shelf unit, which was almost overwhelmed with piles of books on top of/in front of the books that were on the actual shelves. I've got a fair bit of decluttering of those shelves done recently, but I did a bunch more and got it to the point where almost all the books on there actually fit on the shelves. (I thought it was all, but then found some that had toppled off the shelf due to sheer overloading that I'd overlooked.) That's really made a big difference. Yay! Half way! Hope you guys are doing well.

#16 - back porch
For us this would be the conservatory, and there is stuff in there we could do with getting rid of at some point, but it's the kind of big stuff that it's a whole project to get rid of - a broken armchair for which we'd need a skip, and an old rocking-chair we never use but is still perfectly good so I'd be having to find some way of getting it to another home. So I decided to give this one a miss for now.
#17 - hair stuff
I was thinking this would be another free pass, since I don't buy hair stuff unless I actually need it.
Then I remembered my daughter's stuff. She has a ton of hairclips and hairbands in styles that she never actually uses. What's more, I keep them in the top drawer of her nightstand and also use that as a chucking-in drawer for all kinds of other things - small things she's made, pretty stones she's bought, small toys that don't seem to have another home. The drawer had become one huge tangled mess in which it wasn't possible to find anything. So I've just spent a satisfying hour going through the whole lot and sorting it out properly. A load of rubbish got thrown away, quite a bit of stuff got put away properly, and the rest is waiting in separated piles for DD to make some decisions on keeping/throwing away. Score another much-needed success story!

#18 - rubbish
This is a useful one; I find that when an area as as darned where-the-hell-do-I-start cluttered as Zone 3 is, it can be really helpful just to focus on looking for one category of stuff and clearing that. This was one I did by taking up a few minutes here and there; went through all of Zone 3 looking at anything I could class as rubbish (including recyclables) and getting rid of it.
This mission was supposed to cover the garage as well, but I'm giving that a miss, for the same reason as #16. So that's me done with Zone 3 and still hanging on in there!

As I said above, I sleep in the spare bedroom, not the master bedroom, but I'm still going to do that one for the Master Bedroom missions, as there is so much in there that needs doing.
I don't have an en suite bathroom, so that's one fewer set of missions to do for this lot. And I've actually done a good job of decluttering my clothes/closet floor over the past few years - I have no doubt I'd be able to find more stuff if I tried, but it just isn't a priority for me at the moment, while the bedroom really is. So I'm skipping the closet missions as well, and concentrating on the bedroom.
#19 - nightstands
This one was actually pretty easy, as I hardly keep anything on my nightstand. I do have an old nightstand in the room as well that's part of the junk there and that did have stuff on top of it, so I cleared that off as well - it didn't take too long, but it did need doing.
#20 - under the bed
This one was definitely not easy, but I decided I wanted to try to get it done by the end of today so that I'd at least have hit the two-thirds mark by the end of the month. Of course, I then had a new book delivered on Wednesday and spent far too much of the evening reading that instead of working on clearing out under the bed as I'd meant to, leaving too much of it for me to do today, but... got it done. Admittedly a bit of this was by redistributing some of the under-the-bed mess to the rest of the room because I just didn't have another place to put it, but a whole load of stuff has actually been put away, thrown away, or placed on the pile for the charity shop, so another big improvement has been made.
Well, that was an extremely successful month - and a few missions still to go (I won't be doing all ten of the remaining ones, as a few are ones I'm not really interested in doing). I'll ease off a bit, but I want to hang on in there until the end of the list.

Oh, meant to add... My son's school had the Rags2Riches collection today, where we can send in old clothes (and bedding, and shoes, and bags...) so that was the perfect destination for a lot of the stuff I've been sorting out. When they first announced the date I thought I wouldn't be able to find much, as DD's school did a similar thing recently... but with all the old coats, shoes, and other stuff I've been finding, I filled up four bags to send!

Well... this is a very old one, but I always did mean to get back to it, so... almost four years later, here I am again!
It's been a busy four years, and I've got a lot of decluttering done in that time, so at least some of these I'll already have dealt with. Time to work on yet more: #21: Bras, pants and socks. Done this in the intervening four years, so that's one more down.
#22: Dresser top. Aha; the perfect one for me. The top of the chest of drawers nearest to my door is a major dumping zone/hot spot that had turned, over the years, into one huge stack of stuff about six inches high. My other chest of drawers is on the far side of my bedroom and thus much less prone to becoming a dumping ground, but it had still collected bits and pieces over time.
So, I spent about 25 mins last Friday working on the one nearer the door (was meant to be 15 mins, but then there was all the 'oh, yes, let's just pick up this bit while I'm working on it anyway' plus the taking stuff to where it was meant to go), and then bits of time on and off during the week, and then more time today since it was a Bank Holiday, focusing on all the last few bits and pieces that always take the most time to sort out. I did the other one today as well - much quicker - and I gave both of them a thorough dusting and also cleaned the mirror that's on the top of the one nearer the door. As always, I feel so much better for getting this done and seeing how much better my room looks.
