Hi, Jilly & everyone! Still the weekend where I am - start of the Easter holidays so I'll be at home with the kids tomorrow (they've also been booked into a holiday club for two days this week & one day the next so that I'll be able to get into work some of the time). I've just been catching up with some work stuff via the remote login, so that's good to have got done.
I've decided to draw up a list of current goals and see how much progress I can make towards them during April:
Routines list (this is my list of anything that involves working on it on an ongoing basis, whether that's daily, weekly, or whatever):
Exercise
Incoming (this is my term for all the work that gets added to the jobs list day-to-day - mail, laundry, ironing, that kind of thing)
Work stuff
CPD (continuing professional development - keeping up with my professional education)
Spending time with the kids
Writing (blog posts, forum posts, e-mails on the lists I'm on - anything opinionated
The 52 Things project (found this on a site called the Organised Housewife - she gives out an area for decluttering each week so I'm having a crack at that)
Getting to bed at a decent hour
Project list (this is anything where I can theoretically get to the point of being able to tick it off the list and say 'Done', as opposed to the ongoing stuff in the above list)
Complete final checks for list of missing Lego pieces and order them
Cancel unneeded critical illness policy (as have realised am covered on husband's insurance so no point)
Phone before/after-school clubs to see about places for next year
Finish off the e-learning modules for work (there are two left to do, but one says not available as being updated, so may only need to do one for now)
Chase up school photo which I ordered but never got round to downloading
Tax return
Declutter study
Declutter spare room
Obviously, the last two are definitely not going to be completed before the end of the month, whatever else I get done! But at least now I have my goals clear. I'll aim to work on those and keep posting my progress in whatever the current daily list is.
Hope all of you have a good week, and will catch up with you in the morning/your evening! Meanwhile, I'll go and do 10 mins on the exercise bike, shower, put the bathmat in to wash, and get to bed (so that will be at least two things from my first list if I get moving!)
