Good Morning to all the Lovely Ladies
Yesterday was a pretty casual day. I had a Dr appointment which went well. He was happy just to view my at home BP results and we have a plan to do that next time. He checked out my back and agrees with me that it will heal with rest (and a bit of Voltaren). Had a house full last night for dinner which was great. Made a Dukan friendly Shepherds Pie (topped with pureed Cauliflower and Parsnip). YUM!!!
Today I AM resting. Yet to find out how many for dinner, either 2 or 4. Maybe a small load of black to wash but other than that, IT...IS...REST....DAY.
Wishing you a Fabulous Friday xoxo

Hi Shellie and Judy
Had a productive day today, and it has been in the low 20s in the weather so that has been nice for a change
Hope everyone has a great start to the weekend

Hi all! Judy, sounds like you're getting loads done - well done! Medusahair, you have a great weekend as well! Shellie, glad to hear you're having a rest day as definitely sounds like you've earned it - hope your back feels better soon! I've not been round here for a while, as you know, but today I've got the day off work so I can go to the school Mothers' Day lunch with my daughter, so just for once I've got a few hours at home when the kids aren't around and when I don't have my usual Tuesday list of jobs to work through... and that doesn't happen very often at the moment, so I want to be sure I make good use of the day. So I figured I'd post my updates here to keep me motivated. First item on the agenda - um, unfortunately it's catching up on work stuff. Story of my life! ::eyeroll:: Then again, I love my job, so I'm lucky. I'll get started on that, plus hanging up my son's sleeping bag when it's finished washing. Ready... set... go!

Hi Sarah, good to 'see' you. Life does get busy, doesn't it. Take full advantage of your 'Home Alone' time, it does not come around too often.
If you can take a quiet 5 or 10mins for yourself and a quiet cuppa too, that would be good xoxo

Flippin' 'eck, I do not flaming well believe that that took so long. Three sodding hours to catch up on work stuff! So much for a day of storming through my to-do list. On the plus side, I guess that's three hours I won't have to clutter up my weekend with, so I'll have more to-do list storming time then! Anyway - 'tis done, or as much as I can do from remote login, and at least I know that a heap of niggling things have been cleared out of the way. So... time for the next thing. Let's see... only just over twenty minutes before I have to leave for the Mothers' Day lunch, so will keep it short. Laundry must be about ready to be rebooted, and I'll try de-HotSpotting the stairs. And yes, Shellie, your advice is sound and I think I will follow it later. But I'll go do a few other things first.

Oh, well... Rebooted the laundry, made a start on the stairs, found a different T-shirt having realised the 'Death and Mort on Binky' T-shirt ('I DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU,' Death said, 'BUT I COULD MURDER A CURRY') might be a great memorial for one of my all-time favourite authors but was possibly not the most appropriate thing to wear to a Mothers' Day lunch in a primary school, went to the Mothers' Day lunch, went into town to buy my own mother's card & a few other bits & bobs, had a good browse round the book sale while I was there, came home, rebooted the laundry again, wrote and posted the card, and... went to get the children. Strewth. So much for a day of storming through my jobs!
Well, I refuse to be downhearted; I did use the time well, and now I've got all that work stuff out of the way I can spend more of my weekend doing other things, and it was definitely a more relaxing day than if I'd been at work, so I'm sure it did me good! Right - on to the next thing. Ordering the flowers for my mother that I'd have arranged weeks back if I'd been organised.

OK, that's more like it. Ordered the flowers, finished clearing the stairs, tidied the end of the dining room table, got my son's bed made up again, and washed a couple of the old jars that have been waiting by the sink for me to clean out and put in recycling. Yay! OK, dinner now!

It was lovely - thank you! My son got to sit with us as well even though the Mothers' Day lunch for his year isn't till next week - which was really nice as I won't be able to make that day & didn't want him to miss out. And the food was pretty good as well. Anyway, I wrapped up the day by putting away a bunch of laundry, so I'd say it was a success!
