Good Morning Lovely Ladies
My Mum (photo taken on her 85th BDay - Nov 14)
Firstly, Thank you for the love and support during this week. I do feel the love. Yesterday went well (struggling to find the right words), I think Mum would be pleased and I tried my best to follow her wishes. Talk about 'Born Organized', she had left very clear instructions, and had made a good start on a Eulogy which I only had to add recent events to. We had a full Catholic Mass (Mum was a very devote Catholic) conducted by Mum's local priest who she was very close to and he very close to her. He was able to put an extra personal touch to the day, he knew all of us through stories Mum had told and our photo's in Mum's house, he knew her love of gardening and they had often talked about Mum's roses. He visited her on her last Sunday morning to deliver her communion (which he had done for many years, since she had been unable to go to Mass herself) and they had again spoken of her favourite rose 'Queen Elizabeth' which would be due to flower at this time. I was able to pick one perfect 'QE' rose to lay on her coffin and then petals from another favourite 'Angel Face' for us all to sprinkle. Angel Face is a scented rose. After we went to a sailing club which we have all enjoyed going to over the years. Hubby & I met there, we had Mum's 60th BDay there, Mum had had several 'girls group' lunches there as well as other groups she had been part of, and both mine and my brothers family's have enjoyed going there. It is a beautiful view of Lake Macquarie (where Mum has lived 50+ yrs) and the weather was perfect. It was great catching up with friends and our cousins, we just never see each other enough. All in all the day could not have gone better.
On a FLYing note, house is holding together quite well. A few 15's and my daily routines are holding things together. After the weekend I need to get DD17 focused back onto the HSC and that must be our main aim from now until it's finished.
I need to get a 'game plan' for Mum's house. At this moment my head is still spinning a little so I'm going to take some time and work out the best and most efficient way to deal with it. I tend to work best with a well formulated plan (perhaps that's a little perfectionism showing through).
Wishing you all a Superb Saturday and a Wonderful Weekend ahead xoxo
