Good Morning Ladies, thank you all for your well wishes for Josh he is nursing a rather bruised and swollen eye poor boy! But he will make a full recovery, my brave boy! I am hopefully home today! I am hoping to get some cooking and baking done as well as few other things.
What are you all up to today?
Love and hugs to all.
oxoxoxo
P.S.
Well, just when I thought the yesterday could not be any harder...
I come home from the shopping centre and drop Ant and Josh at home, and I make sure Joshua gets to bed okay. Then I go back out to finish my shopping, and the lovely Karen had put my trolley in the fridge to make sure all is okay. I have a quick chat with her and let her know how Joshua is and then proceed to walk around the supermarket in a lovely relaxing dream, enjoying a little Jilly time. All of a sudden I hear this woman walk up to me, and she gave me a hug. She would not let go! I am trying so hard to get away, and those who know me outside computer land would know I am a BIG hugger. However this was freaking me out. When she did let go, I realized I knew her from a church we had both attended long ago. She started to say she was very poor and had no money for food (mind you she did have money for smokes – hmmmmmmm!) She asked if I would pay for her groceries. I didn’t say ‘yes’ or ‘no’ but she started to put stuff in my trolley. Now I am the kind of person who does help people when I can, but this was a tad strange, and as we were walking to the checkout, she continued to put more things in – about $50.00 worth. So I said, “No. I don’t mind one or two things but please stop.” She didn’t. Now remember, I have already gone through Joshua fitting and the ambulance people so my day has already been unreal.
Anyhoo, I took her to the checkout and asked if one of the ladies could help. This lovely young lady came over, but as things started to get a tad heated with this woman, along came Karen – the same lady that helped with Joshua. She took over the situation, and dealt with this woman and all her groceries; I am so grateful to God for an angel like Karen. She helped me; not once, but in the end 3 times because this woman came back, trying to get more groceries (or smokes – Yuk!) I was so tired and in shock that I called my Mama and asked her to just pray for me. She did more than just that; she and Daddy came to Coles to be with me as I finished off my shop. (I just love my parents so much!)
Mama and I went down to Woollies to get a few things, and as we walked up the escalator, I am greeted by a young man I know. As we were talking, along came this same woman again. She started to try and talk to me, but then saw my Mama and she ran. Now for those of you who don’t know my Mama, she is 5’ nothing and 85 years old. But one look from Mama and this woman was off – gone; a good and funny end to a hard day.
The moral to this story is: NEVER underestimate little 85-year-old ladies.
Now I am off for a rather large glass of Red!!
Love to all.
