Good morning all, hope we slept well.
I spent the weekend in and around Hervey Bay on a supposedly girly weekend.
On Saturday morning drove close to 2 1/2 hours to get there then met up with DFriend who had just finished at a work conference and told me she was about to be an auntie again and the mother had been in labour since the early hours of Saturday and we were going to look after her 6yr old niece. My DFriend's DH met us and we drove to pick up DNiece 6yr old then we drove another 2 hours to have a birthday picnic with DFriend's mum, dad and sister (they live a great distance apart and we all met 1/2 way ). Great time catching up with them, then another 2hrs drive back and off to hotel for the night, (me, DFriend and DNeice) we walked to a nice restaurant for dinner then back to hotel and sleep. Next morning drove for breakfast, dropped off DFriend and Dneice at hospital where bub was about to be born, we said our goodbye's and I drove 1hr to DFriend's mum & dad's for coffee then another 1 1/2hr drive home. Arrived home safely had a nana nap, watched DH clean up yard, heard both new mum and baby were well after arrival of baby girl....big sis very excited had fish & chips for dinner, watch a movie and bed.
Today start on WHB including MOPPING, chicken schnitzel for dinner and several loads of washing and some more filing and dealing with papers that are on my desk.
Have a great Monday!!

Good Morning SYS and all the Lovely Ladies to come
It was a pretty quiet weekend here on the forum.
Today is DH day off, so hoping we go for a walk after DD16 drop off to school. I have a few loads on the line I hung last night and another ready to hang. I think I'll gather up another 1 or 2 loads and get them done too in case the weather turns ugly again.
Yesterday I managed to do some food prep for DH and my Dukan Diet. It's funny I am finding the Pure Protein days easier, I just think there are less decisions to be made. I also WHB the front half of house and followed my Daily Routines.
Today I want to tackle the 2nd half of house and get the washing back under control. I go so well UNTIL it rains. Other than that I am hoping to get DH to Big W to have a look at some fitness equipment (maybe).
Diet Update - Weight Tally - Down 4.6Kilos :DFeeling pretty happy about this. Can't thank Judy and Elasti enough.
Ok time to get this washing out. Wishing you all a Marvelous Monday and a Wonderful Week of FLYing. xoxo
SYS, glad to hear you made it back again safely. How did you stop yourself making a detour to Uni? Don't forget to have some other fun during your time off, it goes so quick and you want to be well rested to go back.

Hi Sys, What a lot of travel for your weekend! Glad Mum and Bub are doing well. Good luck with your blessings and paperwork!
Hi Shellie, Congrats on your weight loss and moving closer to your goals. Big W sounds fun.
Hi Medusa, Thanks for your encouragement yesterday. So glad I did the cooking, but gee it took a long time!
Hi everyone,
Today DD11 has left early for Orchestra, DS8 has tennis in half and hour, and DS3 is off to Preprep. I have blessings and paid work to do. Trying to get my head in a better place. Have been feeling ground down with relentless jobs and little progress. Not enjoying the home either - just more jobs and I try to consult with everyone else, but don't get that respect back really - they just get what they want, I do the work, and still everything else gets dumped in my office. DH's latest bee in his bonnet is the writing materials and pencils that are near the dining table. But that's where the boys do their homework and activity books. It's like he wants a house that we don't live in. I'll look at it today and see if I can somehow tidy and store it all differently, but then, again, I'm doing someone else's project and wondering why I don't get my paid work done and my office still looks like the aftermath of a cyclone.
I think I'll set a timer and do blessings for an hour, then paid work for 2, then see what I can do next.
Wishing you all a wonderful week.

Hi Ladies
Back from my walk. Somewhat exhausted myself (that's sweat on the face not a tear ). Showered and dressed and sitting on my recliner reading all your posts.
Elizabeth, those feelings your having, that's what being a Mum feels like. There are the nice bits in between, the cuddles and kisses, proud moments, but that's how it feels. I think that might be one of the reasons that FLYLady concentrates on FINALLY LOVING YOURSELF, because someone has too. Look basically, they are kids, they don't get it. Each young mind sees themselves as the center of the universe. When you have 3, well then that's an entire Galaxy that you have to deal with it. I do think you over extend yourself with ALL the various activities the kids are involved in, but I have mentioned that before and that is totally your choice. My only other thoughts on your situation, is concentrate on the paid work and hire a cleaner and pay her with what you earn from the paid work. And DH well, you just need to train him up, or put up with how is Mother trained him. Love and Hugs xoxoxo
Medusa, DS(now21) hated starting preschool and then kindergarten. We ended up doing him a deal. 10days with NO TEARS OR TANTRUMS he got a new video (no DVD's then lol). Or some other goal. Make a calender to cross off the good days. DON'T cross off it any problem occurs. ONLY the good days. Might be the incentive she needs. Once she is there she is probably having a great time.
Ok time to go organize lunch and get onto WHB

Thanks Shellie for those wise words - true and encouraging. It's like getting a big internet hug. I laughed when you talked about training DH or settling with how his Mum trained him. It's so true! But that said, my DMiL is a lovely lady and I am blessed (just did everything for her kids).
Getting on today and it's working. Just need a little space to work it out. Thanks again.

Well learn from DMiL mistakes, don't do that to your kids. My mother did everything for us as kids (and Dad) and then I moved out with NO SKILLS. My brother was worse (and still is). But I'm a stubborn $&!#, so I taught myself. I watched reno shows/self help shows and read lots, and of course learned from my mistakes. That 1st Corned Silverside that I roasted was a life lesson (rofl)YUK!
As far as my kids, I am NOT their friend. And have told them that often. I have given them chores from age 5 and upped them as they got older. It was chores for holiday spending money when they were in Primary and then chores for pocket money in high school. Now I'm not saying I have it all worked out, but when I had my final showdown with DS regarding his messy room and refused to wash his clothes anymore, well he actually knew how to do it. And with practice he has become a very good at ironing. He can cook to survive, although I couldn't handle the mess made (compared to when I did it).
Start NOW!!!! Don't let another day go by without making this your priority. You will have endless hours of reminding them, telling them and arguing the why's and how's, but in the end you will have children how can survive on their own (eventually). Simple tasks 1st unstack dishwasher, folding socks/undies, feed dog, set table, there's a million of them. In my house rooms were their own problem. I come through with a vacuum on 'Monday's let's say" and I WILL vacuum up what is on the floor (when they were in primary school). As they got older (high school) if it wasn't clean and clear when I came through I just by passed it and they could did it themselves. Oh and how did I make it happen, 'I'm not driving you to tennis/dance/soccer/friends/etc etc until it's done'.
The outcome will (eventually) be that you are saved some time and chores. And you will have more time freed up to do what you want whether that is paid work or Elizabeth time.
Ok, turning the mum voice off now. Love and Hugs xoxo

Hi Everyone ive just read all your posts and I agree with Shellie! I wish Shellie had all those words of wisdom for me when my DC were little- except she didn't have any them WTG on the weight loss Shelle! You rock! Im feeling very unmotivated tonight. I've watered all my pot plants and did the folding. I have to get up and put some dishes in the dw and hang up the washing I put on. I'm very grateful DH is home and doing so much for me! Tomorrow another work day for me. Our DFsDS25 is coming for dinner and DS20 might too. DH is making lasagne. I will empty all bins and put the big bins out to the kerb and hopefully do some ironing. Hope you all Have a Goodnight! Xx
