Just popping in to let you know that although it's very wet here, we are ok. Most flooding is in low lying suburbs and seems to be for the most part effecting roads, parks and a few shopping center car parks, more than homes. Our dams are full to capacity, so that's a good thing, as long as the rain starts to ease from now.
We are mostly staying indoors and off the roads to not add to the chaos out there. Hubby and DS22 both needed to go to work, and I assume so did DS22's GF, but the rest of us are staying put and out of the road of any emergency service. So many think they can drive through flooded roads and then break down and just cause unnecessary work for services.
DD17 just got an invite from a couple of GF's to go into town tonight for dinner, there are probably a dozen roads between there and here that are either already covered in a foot of water or at threat of minor flooding. Why the hell don't their parents tell them to hold off on their plans until conditions are better. Now I get to say no to DD17 and be the bad guy and she gets to feel like she is missing out. Honestly, some people.
Anyway, we are all good.
