Done both! Also had a break to watch another 'Apprentice' episode online (this has clearly turned into my current addiction).
Time to see about getting the kids out for a walk. When we come back, I'm going to work on more desk stuff.

Done more stuff on my desk and also had a bit more of a look at available options for ready-made sandwiches for the party (I think I'll just go with the cheap option at Sainsbury's and buy some stuff to add to it), so that's my goals met for today. Dinner's in the oven so I'll have a crack at getting a wee bit more done on my desk while it's cooking.
I had a scare today when I thought my phone had died, but luckily it turned out to be just that the connection to the charger had come loose and the battery was flat as a run-over pancake, so that's sorted. However, I've decided that 'back up phone data' should be added to the goal list. On the plus side, three days in I've completed three of them - caught up with the laundry, caught up with work stuff, and ordered that computer stuff. So, excellent progress so far.

Thank you, Elizabeth! I started today's work on the list by going through the stuff on my desk, because I realised I was actually pretty close to fulfilling the 'under control' criterion for the list, even though there's a lot of stuff still on there to do. Yesterday I actually found that stupid form I was looking for on Wednesday, which is a big relief, so I've sent that off, and I've caught up with my accounts. So, this morning I went through everything and sorted the stuff into stuff relating to particular jobs and sorted that into piles and filed/threw away everything that was left on there that I didn't need on there, and now I officially declare my desk back Under Control. Another list item complete. Let's see, that leaves: - At least one thing every day towards appraisal
- At least one thing every day towards the children's party
- Stay caught up with the laundry
- Get some more tidying done
- Ironing backlog
- Finish decluttering big bookcase in living room
- Declutter top shelf in study
- Figure out how to back up stuff on my phone (new item as per yesterday)
- Download photos on phone (easy key part of item above)
- Reply to that e-mail
The first three are ongoing throughout half-term. The fourth I suppose is also ongoing, but I have some specific plans for 5-minute Room Rescues. The last six are specific items with an endpoint.
Need to brush DD's hair now as I haven't done that yet. After that, I'll put in more work on that audit.

OK, that was an excellent morning's work - I've got a solid chunk of the work of the audit done. Let's see - now I need to book my delivery slot for Tuesday's shopping, unless I want to end uptaking the kids round the supermarket with me ![:o](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/shocked.png)

I put in the delivery request for the shopping (must remember to update the list on Monday) and then procrastinated a bit about getting started on anything else, and then got called out to help DH and DD with the gardening - which annoyed me at first but of course was exactly the break I needed. There's something about these cold, clear autumn days I really love.
So, feeling a lot better for that break in the open air, I've now rebooted the laundry, done another 5-minute Room Rescue in the children's room (at this rate it should end up tidy, um, some time after they leave home), done my exercise session for the day, and had a very token look at my plan for the food and at some Minecraft party stuff on Amazon just so I can say I've done my 'something towards children's party' task for today. Now DD wants me to do something, and then in a minute it'll be my turn to go do stuff that needs doing in the kitchen, so not much time left. If I do get any spare time before dinner, I'll put it into replying to that e-mail, and if I get any more after that then I'm going to spend it finally writing some of my own stuff... been too long since I did that, but with so much of the to-do list done and my mind refreshed by going out, I'm finally feeling up to it.

You are doing well! Are your DCs twins or birthdays close together and having a joint party? We have 4 birthdays in 8 days in my immediate family in November. - always a busy month!

Thanks, Judy! Birthdays close together - DD was born five days after DS's third birthday. Didn't even start out with a 'here's what I'm going to do, now let's get going' post today as I was feeling so much in the rhythm! Dishwasher's done, laundry's still all caught up, and I've done the 5 minute room rescue, the 'something for children's party' task (researched different party bag options) and the 'something towards appraisal' task (written up the first part of my audit). And it's only lunchtime. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) (Mind you, it is the weekend when the clocks go back, so I have had an extra hour. ![:))](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cheesy.png) Time to go get lunch now as we're going out for our usual Sunday afternoon walk in an hour. With whatever time I have left for the rest of the day, I'm going to work first on that e-mail, which I still didn't get done, and then the writing I want to do. I was going to wish you all a happy weekend and then realised that with the time difference it would be over for you anyway, but hope it was a good one for you all anyway!

Remembered that I hadn't transferred the photos from my phone & wanted to do that, so I just did that.
Ummm... turns out I need to do that more often. A lot more often. Just downloaded 257 photos and freed up about two gigs of space on my phone. OK - glad I got that done. And, of course, another item can be crossed off the list!

Just got in from a lovely day out. In a particularly rare burst of organisation, I went through all the photos I just downloaded, deleted the blurred/accidental/duplicate ones, and sorted the rest into folders. Really nice going through all those old ones - plus quite a few 'before' photos of my decluttering efforts, which were great reminders of some things I'd managed to do over the year!

I got that e-mail done yesterday. I've also decided to drop 'back up phone stuff' from the immediate to-do list because I've realised that downloading my photos was the main thing from that list that I wanted to do. If I lost my texts or my list of phone numbers, it would be a pain but not so horrendous that I want to be backing the stuff up right now. (I hope those are not famous last words.) So, here are the things I'm currently doing every day: - Laundry. I'll check, but I think I'm now so caught up that all I have to do is take the current load out of the dryer. (It's one for DH to put away, so I don't even have to do that.)
- One thing towards appraisal. Today I have a few notes to make on the audit, but I think I'm about as far as I'm going to go with that until I go in on Wednesday, so I'll mainly concentrate on looking through the records for significant events and/or the clinical meeting where I presented my last audit cycle, so that I can write those up.
- One thing towards children's party. Today it's going to be looking for someone in the area who can make a Minecraft cake.
- 5 minute Room Rescue in children's room
- Get lunch for children
- Get children out for a walk
A couple of other tasks for today:
- Exercise session
- Log into supermarket order for final changes
There are also three tasks left on my project list - catch up with the ironing, finish decluttering the big living-room bookcase, and finish decluttering the top shelf in my study. Of those three, the ironing seems to be the priority - the others could wait indefinitely if need be, but at some point I will need more work clothes. So I will also try to get some ironing done today if possible.
Last, and probably shouldn't be least but in practice will be, I'll aim to get some writing done if I have time after doing everything else.
And now, since none of that is going to do itself, I'll get started on it. Laundry first, then I think I'll research cakes next.

Laundry done (I'd forgotten there was some stuff on the clothes horses ready to put away, but that only took a few minutes). Cakes checked out (depressingly expensive). Appraisal work done (was more to do on the audit than I'd realised, so I worked on that). Supermarket order updated. Children lunched and walked. I'm going to do the 5 minute Room Rescue and the exercising next.

Done! It's about time to go get dinner on, so I'll do that before I start the ironing. (DH is finishing off dinner tonight, so all I have to do is start it, which is nice.)

Four tops, two pairs of trousers! And less than five minutes to dinner, so I have to shut this down now. Another successful day behind me and looking forward to yet another one ahead.

Phew! Woke up early today & couldn't get back to sleep, so I figured I might as well get started on things earlier. So of course I spent the time watching YouTube videos of old 'How I Met Your Mother' episodes. Relaxation's important too, after all. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Plan for today: - Laundry. There is now a load that's full enough to be worth putting through, but can't get it started till later as it's in DH's room & he's taking a day off today & sleeping in.
- Appraisal stuff - I'll have another shot at looking up significant events/minutes from the clinical meeting where we discussed my last audit cycle, and writing those up.
- Party stuff - jeez, I don't even know. Price up balloons and streamers in Minecraft colours, maybe.
- 5 minute Room Rescue in children's room
- Ironing
- Early night
But first I will get some breakfast. Oh, and probably wake the kids up if they're not awake soon, as they have to be up early tomorrow for holiday club and I don't want them getting onto too late a cycle.
