Huh - been one of those days where I'm not quite sure where the time went. I did have several other jobs to do that I hadn't thought of in the morning (catch up on work stuff that's come in in the past few days, get packed lunches done for tomorrow as I'm in work & the kids are in the holiday club, do house bins, go to pharmacy as DD thinks she's got worms, probably a couple of other things) but it shouldn't have taken as long as it did.
Oh, well, got the main stuff done. Laundry - check, except for a few things still in the dryer (the stuff that needs to go through separately on low heat). 5 minute Room Rescue - done. (Actually starting to see quite a bit of floor in there.) Appraisal - came across a couple of glitches & e-mailed my appraiser about one of those (may not sound like I got much done, but I was glad to have the chance to do it now rather than in a panic with time running out in a few weeks' time!) Party stuff - looked up printing on icing, for the cake.
Time to go get a shower so that I can fulfil the 'get early night' item. Tomorrow I'm in work, so I'm hoping that it'll be the chance to catch up on some more work stuff, since the kids will be in holiday club and I'll have more time than I usually do on a school day. I guess it's already tomorrow for you guys, so Happy Thursday to you all!

Hi Sarah, you are doing great.
It must be more common that we think, we have 3 Bday's in our household between 15 - 23 January. DD(#3) was born 5 day's after DS(#1)'s 5th Bday. And I am the other one, very very pregnant on 2 of my birthdays (and in the heat of the Australian Summer too, lol)

Thanks, Shellie! Great to have you guys cheering me on, but don't anyone feel like you have to read my ramblings. It's helping me to think out loud here, but a lot of this stuff must be boring as heck for anyone else! Too tired yesterday evening to post. I decided that, since that was a work day and not a holiday day for me, I'd count it as exempt from the 'one thing every day towards appraisal/children's party' plan and the Room Rescues. I got a load of laundry washed, dried and partly put away and that was good enough. It was a good day for work - I caught up on two dementia reviews, two AUA forms (don't ask, it's as boring as it sounds) and various sundry bits and pieces. I logged on this morning to tidy up my task list at work and it was great seeing how it's shrunk! I'm not back to that surgery again until Wednesday (locuming at another surgery on Monday) so I'll keep logging on to keep on top of results/incoming mail as it comes in, to give me more of the working day to deal with the things I need to be on-site to do. I'm really enjoying seeing how I can shrink my to-do backlog bit by bit. For the Room Rescue today, I decided to do the stairs instead - after a week of RRs, the children's room is looking at least passable, and I'm ready for a break from it. So I only picked up the stuff that had ended up on the floor since the last RR so that at least the place wouldn't be getting worse. The stairs look a lot tidier, and I did another RR on the upstairs hall because the plumber was coming for the boiler service. I've still got to deal with a stack of stuff I dumped in the kids' room to finish off in a hurry, but I'll do that later (I can't currently get to it without stepping over the plumber, which is a good excuse to put it off ). Let's see - for the 'children's party' task, I need to reply to the e-mail I got from a cakemaker. (Ugh. I am just so fed up with the thought of this darned party.) For the 'appraisal' task, I'll look to see whether my appraiser has e-mailed me back in response to my query about significant events, and if he has I can get those written up. If not, I'll log on and start getting the letters sent out to wrap up my audit.

Had a hard time getting down to stuff today, but here's what I did: Changed towels and got both loads washed (last one still in dryer). Did the 5-minute rescues of stairs & upstairs hall I already mentioned in my last post. Wrote up the significant events. E-mailed that person about the cake. Did those few bits and pieces of work this morning. Did half an hour of ironing (because I wanted to watch the second half of the latest 'The Apprentice' episode after finishing lunch). Reconciled credit card bill. Did the usual stuff - dishwasher, kids out for a walk, making dinner as it's one of my nights for it, exercise session. So... pretty solid day's work, ultimately. Tomorrow: - Laundry - just the towels to get out of the dryer, don't think there's anything else needs doing currently
- I'll skip the Room Rescue since I did two today.
- Children's party - ugh, don't even know. Look up cake recipes, I guess.
- Appraisal - get letters sent out for audit
- Work - catch up on any new stuff, start making a list of who still needs AUA forms & who doesn't
And whatever else I get done. Right now, past time to be in bed. See you guys later!

Didn't have much motivation yesterday (with hindsight, I think that was tiredness - it's amazing how going even slightly short on sleep over a few nights can leave you feeling utterly unmotivated even when you don't feel consciously tired, isn't it?). I looked up some possibilities for putting a Minecraft spin on ordinary party games, and sent out the letters for my audit for the appraisal, and caught up on work stuff, and sorted out some more books for the charity shop from the bookcase I'm trying to declutter, and that was about it. Oh, and I bought a Kindle copy of 'To Kill A Mockingbird' because we're doing that at the book club on Monday, and started that.
Today I did a load of laundry (last bit of drying and the putting away still to do), finished 'To Kill A Mockingbird', posted on a forum for some ideas for Minecraft-themed games that non-Minecraft fans could also enjoy, wrote a bit about the care home reviews for appraisal, and did more decluttering of the big bookcase. Oh, and did my exercises as usual. I do feel a lot better today after getting a good night's sleep last night, so I'll aim to get to bed at a decent hour tonight and tomorrow night.
One more day left! If the weekend counts as half-term, that is. It's gone very well. Hope you're all having a good weekend as well!

It is amazing how lack of sleep, or getting enough sleep can change a day. I always say to new mum's, sleep when baby sleeps, if you are well rested you can handle anything else.
To Kill a Mocking Bird is one of my fav old movies. I have a feeling I read it at school but to be honest I can't remember actually doing it, but it rings a bell. How bad is that, lol

Aaaaaaand finally... decluttered that top shelf and picked out a bunch of the books currently on my bedroom floor to put on it, finished decluttering the living-room bookcase, did another 5-minute Room Rescue in children's room, caught up on laundry, spent about two token minutes looking at balloons and streamers on Amazon so I could tick off the 'one thing towards children's party' task, did half a CPD credit as my 'appraisal' task (hoped for a full one, but half was what I had time for), checked my work list for tomorrow, and there you are - glossing over the bit where I planned to get 2 - 3 credits (because that was part of the appraisal one and I decided to work on other stuff instead) and fudging a bit on what counts as 'under control' for the ironing backlog, that counts as every single item ticked off!!
What a great holiday for achievement. I shall now aim to get to bed before it gets too horribly late so that I'll be in good shape to get going on a similar achievement level over the upcoming term. And thank you to all of you for your support and cheering on!
