Well done, Judy! That's great news. I haven't heard anything about the Dukan 2, looks interesting. I think I'd get to day 3, eat the fruit & it'd be all over, red rover.
On that note, my diet is not going well. I've done pretty well food wise & slow, gentle exercise last week, much the same as the week before, but still have gained a kilo back. I've done some research & 2 of the meds I'm on cause weight gain. I remember now last year my Rheumatologist changed my meds but I thought nothing of it because I was having constant flares & just wanted relief. So I'm stuck atm, I'm fighting an uphill battle, feeling unwell most days & trying to exercise within my pain limits. I hate being a broken record 'rah, rah, I'm going to lose weight & get fit like normal people can do!' & then EPIC FAIL. (Stay Positive!! really doesn't get me anywhere because HELLO WELCOME TO REALITY ELASTI) - I need an alternative plan - I'll be back when I figure that out

Oh Elasti- dont be so hard on yourself. Its so hard when the meds you are taking cause you to gain weight, but they also help you to live life! You know you are doing exercise and you know you are eating healthy! I couldn’t do the jumping, my pelvis and neck were so sore afterwards. We all have our limitations and are never going to have the bodies of an 20 year old! Never mind about not being positive in here we would rather you were honest and real! lost 800 grams this week, but that same kilo has been coming off and going on for a couple of weeks now I want to see the next decade on scales THIS WEEK!
MONDAY- 500 cals B-coffee L-soup, yogurt, S-apple, cucumber D- steamed fish and veggies and err 2 homemade chic chip biscuits ( there were desserts at meeting )
TUESDAY- guests for dinner B-smoothie L-soup,yogurt S-fruit, chocolate bar D- brushetta, roast chicken and veggies, ice cream in waffle cone. 1 wine
WEDNESDAY B/L out with my girls including wine and cake S- D- l/o risotto
THURSDAY- 500 cals + extras B-coffee L-soup, salad as, yogurt, apple D-bolonaise sauce and zoodles, and ice cream in cone + a couple handful of nuts
FRIDAY- our DFs mum has cooked a meal for us we have to eat. Zucchinis stuffed with rice and meat with yogurt and mint sauce? Nice but how do we tell her to stop sending us these meals. They are tasty. She is Lebonese and I've never actually met her but she is grateful for what my DH has done for her son B- L- D- S-
SATURDAY- DFs have invited themselves for a bbq- I feel my diet this week is being sabotaged!!- I had more wine in one day/night than I have had in ages!! AND then I had 3 small Amarulas B- L-grazing platter- cheese, crackers, sundered tomatoes, marinated feta cheese, blue cheese- fantastic if not on a diet S-salami, D-BBq chicken wings, steak and salad
SUNDAY B- L- cold sausage S- D-L/O stuffed zucchinis

Hi Girls,
Prof Dukan has come up with a new Diet. Dukan 2.0. There is a new book out and new info on the Dukan sites online. Basically it's the 4 phases condensed into a week. And repeat until.....
The premise is (like the different rhythms) that eventually you will have the same number of PP, PV, Consoldiation and Stabilization days over a period of time as if you were on the 1PP/1PV rhythm. It helps with the feeling of deprivation. A celebration meal is never more than a week away.
Each week you start fresh (don't we know that feeling), and you progress each day adding a new food group in. From the info I've gathered, Day 1 is PP Day is still all protein and low fat dairy, then Day 2 add Veggies like normal PV Day Day 3 add 2 fruits Day 4 add 2 Wholemeal Bread Day 5 add Cheese (1.5oz) Day 6 add a Starch (7oz of Potato/Wholemeal Pasta/Brown Rice) Day 7 as Day 6 plus a Celebration Meal (as per the old diet including a glass of wine)
then Rinse and Repeat lol
Personally I like the idea. After 12months the whole NO FRUIT thing is getting pretty old. In DD20's Nutrition/Dietetics studies they have shown that High Proteins Diets can be very effective (more effective than other diets) for the 1st 12months, but then lose momentum and even out with all other calorie controlled diets. So I am feeling it's time for change. I like the idea of a more balanced diet most days (the one things that kept me from Dukan when you girls 1st started talking about it). I am a little fearful of adding 2 fruit and 2 Wholemeal Bread back in the 1st week. That would be 10 pieces of Fruit and 8 pieces of Wholemeal Bread each week. That sounds like a lot, so I am thinking to begin with I will stick to 1 Fruit on those days and 1 Wholemeal Bread. And I am not feeling I am missing Starchy foods (except Cous Cous occasionally) so I will be a bit wary of those too. Anyway here is a graph and you can research more info online.
It suggests that weight loss is somewhat slowed on this new diet, but a loss is a loss after all.

I will post my weight change here tomorrow morning - not expecting much!!
MONDAY- 500 cals Terrible day ate everything on my plan and then HEAPS MORE gggrrrr B-coffe L-salad and boiled egg S-yogurt, apple D- steak and steamed veggies
TUESDAY- PP DAY B-coffee L-rissole and fried egg S-yogurt . 2 biscuits and some chocolates and then a pkt twisties D- rissole
WEDNESDAY- Normal day B- L- D- S-
THURSDAY- 500 cals B- L- D- S-
Thats it for my week. We are going on a motorbike weekend with movies, stalls and info about motorbike adventures. We are going and staying with another couple and meeting some other friends there. Our socializing will centre around food and alcohol

Judy - 'fantastic if not on a diet'Shellie - 'Each week you start fresh (don't we know that feeling)'(I can't get quotes to work ) I legit LOL'd when I read these. Looking at those charts it makes more sense now. I totally agree Shellie, the idea of going have at it with fruit & bread, then 2 days of starchy foods & a celebration meal on top is kinda scary. I guess the 2 days at the beginning of the week are going to balance out the carbs?? It does look more like a 'balanced diet'. But I definitely wouldn't do 2 fruits & 2 slices of bread either.

I am starting tomorrow 10/2/15 - I know Monday would be the traditional start over day but that's DH day off and we sometimes go out for lunch, so Tuesday is start day for me

Yep I'm in. Good thinking that on Monday sometimes you're out for lunch so your start day is Tuesday - I think my start day might have to be Thursdays - DH wants to make Wednesdays his home made pizza night. And Thursdays I'm home alone so I can do the PP day easily.Does this #2 diet still include the daily oatbran? I'm assuming the PP/PV parts of it are the same base guidelines?I have to go out now but I should BBL

Definitely enjoy your weekend away, then come back with fresh motivation to get it done. I am feeling a little frustrated with myself, here we are what 5 or 6 weeks since Christmas and I am still in about the same spot as then. I lost a little more (when I was sick), put that back on, put on a bit more during 'birthday week' and now have lost most of that. I am about 1kg off the 2014 goal, but then I haven't really been doing the right thing (on many levels) so I guess 1kg over goal is probably a blessing. Hoping this new way of Dukan will get me back on the straight and narrow.
The general feeling around here about Dukan 2.0 - DMum thinks it sounds confusing, both DH and I are a little concerned that adding new foods will cause a gain but DD20 is thrilled to see fruit coming back in and has warned me to 'replace' with the fruit rather than 'add' the fruit (and bread). Let's see how we go

Thank you Shellie & Judy for bringing my attention to this. I need a change of mindset - managing my rheumatoid needs to be a priority while finding a balance. (I still need to lose weight of course, but put the focus on health, not the scales iykwim)
The more I look at this, the more I like it. It's definitely more balanced, there's really no 'forbidden' foods except junk foods & those 3 fruit exceptions. I'm wary of the added carbs for 5 days out of 7 but it's doable with a bit of discipline. I think I'll have to amp up the exercise personally to lose weight.
Today I'll organise my foods & meal plan so tomorrow is start day.
